In the series of "DE STRIJDBARE 17", Dutch radiostation NPO Radio 1 honors musicians who are more than just people who wrote songs and performed. Tiken Jah Fakoly is one of those fantastic artists. He is more than just a musician. He is characterized as an activist and voice of the african people. Born in Ivory Coast this man does a lot for the community like building schools.
NPO Radio asked Karima el Fillali and me to make a tribute to this wonderful singer. We then decided to remake one of Tiken's song called "Il faut se leve" (we must rise), and put some of our own (Moroccan) roots in the remix.
